If you are looking for a great new place to sip your coffee, do some work, or chat with a friend, I highly recommend that you put the Bookbar at the top of your list to check out! I absolutely love being anywhere in the Highland neighborhood because of the clever little stores like this one. Not only is this a great place to get some stuff done during the day, but they host some pretty cool evening events here as well. They also have a happy hour special every night of the week, including the Thursday night story time for kids with 1/2 off wine for parents - genius! The down-to-earth staff, and the store's website, have some great book recommendations if you are searching for your next read and need some direction. The store also just recently expanded, so if it's been a while since you have been in, it's probably time to go back! Next time you are out for a dinner in the Highland neighborhood, head to the Bookbar for an after-dinner drink and something sweet; you will not be disappointed!

Hope Tank

I am a tiny bit obsessed with this place right now! If you are in need of a gift for someone or if you are just looking for something special for yourself, you have to check this place out. The charitable concept behind every purchase is what sets it apart from other boutique shops. A portion of every item you buy will go towards a specific organization. Each piece is marked with the charity that you will be supporting, so you walk away knowing that you got something cool, but you also did something good with your money. They have it all from kitchen supplies, to clothing, to baby stuff, and anything in between and it's all really fairly priced. Everything that they carry is unique and there are quite a few humorous items found throughout the store. The multiple build-your-own jewelry arrangements are awesome last minute (or planned) gifts for anyone. Hope Tank is definitely worth a trip to SoBo all on its own!
